Nine candidates are elected to the Boston City Council.

They are Katherine “Kitty” Craven, George Foley, William Foley Jr., Peter Hines, Barry Hynes, Christopher Iannella, John Kerrigan Jr., Frederick Langone, John Tierney Jr. Kerrigan is the top vote getter with 64,069. Craven is the first woman to be elected at-large to the Boston City Council, the second woman on the council, and the first since 1937.
